Baghouse Dust Collector
Also known as a Baghouse Dust Collector, this high-efficiency fabric filter cleans exhaust gases from cement kilns, mills, coolers, and transfer points. With air volumes from 6,912 to 322,560 m³/min, 96 to 3,584 filter bags, and filtration efficiency above 99.9%, it delivers clean emissions below 20 mg/Nm³ — meeting the strictest environmental standards.
Product Overview
The pulse-jet bag filter is the primary air-pollution-control device in a modern cement plant. Dust-laden exhaust gas from the kiln, raw mill, clinker cooler, cement mill, coal mill, and material transfer points is drawn through a housing containing hundreds or thousands of cylindrical fabric filter bags. As gas passes through the bag fabric, dust particles are trapped on the outer surface while clean gas exits through the bag interior and up the plenum to the stack.
Periodically, a brief, high-pressure pulse of compressed air is injected into each row of bags (the pulse-jet cleaning mechanism). This pulse flexes the bag fabric, dislodging the accumulated dust cake, which falls into the collection hopper for reclamation or disposal. Unlike shaker or reverse-air cleaners, pulse-jet cleaning is performed on-line — without interrupting filtration — allowing continuous, high-volume operation.
LIMING Machinery manufactures pulse-jet bag filters with air volumes from 6,912 to 322,560 m³/min and 96 to 3,584 filter bags. With the correct bag fabric (polyester, PPS, P84, aramid, or PTFE) for each application's temperature and chemistry, the filter achieves >99.9% efficiency and emissions below 20 mg/Nm³ — ensuring compliance with the world's strictest emission standards.
Classification
Bag filters are classified by their cleaning mechanism and gas-flow arrangement.
The modern standard for cement. Compressed-air pulses clean bags on-line without interrupting filtration. Highest efficiency, largest capacity, and most compact footprint — suitable for kiln, mill, and cooler exhaust.
Older designs that clean bags by reversing gas flow or mechanically shaking the bags. Lower cleaning intensity and require off-line cleaning — used in smaller or legacy installations where compressed air is unavailable.
Key Benefits
Engineered for high efficiency, long bag life, and reliable continuous-duty dust collection.
Multi-layer needle-felt bags and optimized gas distribution reduce dust emissions to below 20 mg/Nm³ — well within national and international emission limits for cement plants, even for fine PM2.5 particulate.
Compressed-air pulses clean each bag row in turn without interrupting filtration, allowing continuous high-volume operation. Minimal pressure fluctuation and no need to compartmentalize the filter for off-line cleaning.
Bag fabrics include polyester (≤150°C), aramid/Nomex (≤204°C), PPS (≤190°C), P84 (≤260°C), and PTFE (≤250°C) — matching each cement application's temperature and chemical environment for long bag life.
Modular compartment design allows sizing from 96 to 3,584 bags for any air volume. Compact footprint and walkway-integrated access simplify installation and maintenance, even on retrofit sites.

How It Works
The pulse-jet bag filter operates on the principle of surface filtration. Dust-laden gas is drawn through a fabric bag; particles are trapped on the bag's outer surface while clean gas passes through. Periodic compressed-air pulses clean the bags without interrupting operation:
