The Final Stage: From Clinker to Packaged Cement

Cement grinding and finished cement handling is the last production stage, where cooled clinker is ground together with gypsum and other additives to produce the final cement product. This stage is the most power-intensive in cement manufacturing, consuming 40–50% of total plant electricity. The equipment in this stage determines the cement's final quality characteristics — fineness, particle size distribution, setting time, and strength development.

LIMING Machinery provides four key pieces of finished cement equipment. Cement roller presses use high-pressure inter-particle comminution to pre-grind clinker, significantly reducing the energy required by downstream ball mills — achieving up to 1,050 t/h throughput with energy savings of 20–30%. Cement separators classify ground cement particles, returning oversize material for regrinding and ensuring consistent fineness with capacities from 21 to 250 t/h. Cement silos provide large-capacity storage of finished cement — up to 100,000 tonnes — with aeration systems to prevent material compaction and ensure smooth discharge. Finally, cement packing machines fill cement into bags or bulk tankers at rates of 1,200 to 3,000 bags per hour for market dispatch.
