The crusher rotor is the central rotating assembly in hammer crushers and impact crushers. It consists of the rotor shaft (main spindle supported by bearings at both ends), a series of rotor discs or spiders mounted along the shaft (which hold the hammers or blow bars), and the hammer pins or mounting brackets that secure the crushing hammers. In a hammer crusher, the rotor spins at peripheral speeds of 25-55 m/s; in an impact crusher, speeds can reach up to 70 m/s. The rotor converts the motor's rotational power into impact energy that fractures the feed material upon contact with the hammers.
