Shandong Province, as one of China's largest cement-producing and consuming regions, hosts some of the most competitive cement markets in the country. A leading cement group in the province engaged LIMING Machinery to deliver a new 6,000 TPD clinker production line to replace outdated and inefficient capacity while expanding the group's market share in eastern China. The project was awarded on a full EPC basis, encompassing all engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning services.
The 6,000 TPD scale was selected as the optimal balance between production economics and capital investment, with the single production string configuration maximizing operational efficiency while minimizing capital and labor costs per tonne of clinker.
The line is built around a Φ4.8×74m rotary kiln — a proven design used in many of LIMING Machinery's successful installations. Raw material grinding employs a Vertical Roller Mill (VRM), delivering outstanding energy efficiency and consistent raw meal quality. The pyroprocessing section features a cyclone preheater system designed for low pressure drop and high separation efficiency, while the grate cooler provides maximum heat recovery to both the kiln and preheater circuits.
Cement grinding is handled through a closed-circuit ball mill system with high-efficiency separator, producing consistent cement quality at competitive specific power consumption. The entire plant is controlled by an integrated DCS with remote monitoring capabilities.
The 6,000 TPD line has been in continuous operation since commissioning in 2020, consistently achieving its rated production capacity. The VRM for raw grinding has demonstrated power savings of 30-40% compared to conventional ball mill technology. Clinker quality is excellent with consistent free lime and liter weight values, and the grate cooler's heat recovery efficiency has contributed to specific fuel consumption figures that rank among the best in the region.
